Dr. Joseph Kider kicked things off in January by presenting,to a seminar at UCF’s College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), his research into using augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) in the architecture, enginnering, and construction (AEC) field. Kider is currently conducting NSF funded research along with Dr. Lori Walters (SENSEable Design), Dr. Roger Azevedo (IST, SMST), and Dr; Joseph LaViola (CECS) into training and retraining workers in AEC. Walters followed this in February by presenting the ChonoPoints project’s concept of a building’s “Life History” to CECS and a public presentation to the Orlando Science Center’s virtual Ortronicon.
